Soon Monday I was supposed to teach. They called me at 8 saying they would pick me up at 9-9.30. Them being Brazilian I knew they would be late. 10.20 still no sign of them. I managed to get hold of them and find out that instead they would pick me up at 12 and we would have lunch together.

I have pretty much been doing nothing, so I was excited to have some students and lessons to plan, but being an hour and half late put me off. I tried to keep an open mind and went to have lunch with them.

It turns out they are a really nice family. I had lunch with them - they are vegetarian. I will be teaching the 2 very polite and eager to learn children for 2 hours twice a week, the Mum whose English is really good, 1 hour twice a week and their Dad, whose English is not good at all for 1 hour twice a week! After lunch they took me to the cinema as well.

The pay is actually pretty good. I will get 1000 reais per month for 32 hours per month. Last year at the school I got 850 reais per month for 160 hours a month!! Private students are hard to come by but when they do, it works out well!!

 My first lessons were yesterday. They picked me up, fed me some breakfast. I taught the mum for an hour just conversation. Then the kids with some games and things for 2 hours. Then struggled a bit with the Dad for an hour, had lunch with them and then they took me home!

It's nice to be feeling a bit more productive again. Going from 2 jobs in the UK to just relaxing here, takes a bit of getting used to!
